Sustainable developments executive at British Land
Sarah Cary is the sustainable developments executive at British Land. She is responsible for environmental and social concerns in the design and procurement of their £2.1 billion development programme. She works across the whole construction team with architects, engineers, project managers, planning consultants and contractors to ensure reduced resource use and its positive impact on their projects. Her recent projects include the 199 Bishopsgate refurbishment, Leadenhall Building and North East Quadrant at Regent’s Place, near Euston.
Cary said: ‘I hope to leverage the largest committed development programme in central London to change procurement practices and influence design and site behaviour in a significant part of the UK’s construction industry. I want to connect the dots between design and operation for energy use in commercial buildings.’
