Women in Sustainable Architecture: Blanche Cameron

  • Comment

Founding director of RESET Development

Blanche Cameron founded RESET Development in 2007 while teaching at the Centre for Alternative Technology. The charity works to promote the ecological adaptation of towns and cities. Cameron is a co-founder of the annual Integrated Habitats Design Competition. She runs the Defra/DCLG Green Infrastructure Partnership’s interdisciplinary training programme, and is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Biodiversity.

‘Our towns and cities are hot, dry, polluted and prone to flash flooding,’ Cameron said. ‘To create the changes needed to survive in the 21st Century, we have to do three things. We need to work with nature; bringing soil, plants and water into cities. Secondly, we must work together across disciplines, outside of traditional silos. Finally, we need to act in whatever way we can, believing everyone can make a difference.’
