Women in Sustainable Architecture: Ann Bodkin

  • Comment

Consultant and architect

Ann Bodkin is a sustainability consultant and architect. She previously worked for 10 years at Bennetts Associates.

Bodkin has worked with the Education Funding Agency carrying out post-occupancy evaluations. This led her to further work on the baseline designs for the Priority Schools Building Programme, considering architecture and building services engineering together and designing-out resource-hungry systems, which schools cannot afford to operate and maintain.

Bodkin worked with Wilkinson Eyre on LSE City Road London Forum, investigating landscaping, and the project’s environmental and social impacts. She has carried out research into transforming many underperforming roof spaces into vibrant growing spaces across South London. She said: ‘We have to use resources intelligently by prioritising the relative importance of need and making them multitask.’
