The Hellman Files #163

  • Comment

A trawl through Hellman’s archives, in which we uncover gems that are as relevant now as they were then

This AJ cartoon is from 15.07.10 when Michael Gove was education supremo, dictating schools policy and bringing in selection and privatisation through the back door with academies and free schools.

He also discounted the value of architects and any relationship between design and education quality while marginalising local authority input. His advisers for the new Priority Schools Building on the cheap Programme were not educationalists but Tesco and Dixons.

According to our survey (page 10), architects believe PSBP products are inferior to Labour’s more expensive BSF version.
