The University of Newcastle upon Tyne is on the hunt for an architect for a £30 million teaching centre

Planned to open in 2017, the new building is the latest addition to the city’s 10 hectare Science City development.

Faulkner Browns will complete the brownfield regeneration site’s first facility – a £20 million office building  known as The Core – in November.

A new 10,000m² faculty of science, agriculture and engineering is also planned to open in September 2017.

The latest development will feature lecture theatres, offices and teaching rooms.

Up to six teams will be shortlisted for the design contract which is expected to worth £800,000.

The deadline for requests to participate is 22 September.
