Archivate Collective, London

Founded April 2014

Main people Hazel McGregor, Steph Patten, Neil Cheshire

Where have you come from?
McGregor is an architectural designer with experience across the design disciplines. Her previous practice experience includes 51pct Studios and Pentagram. She is also employed by Allies and Morrison. Cheshire is a multimedia practitioner, photographer, musician and arts technician who has produced worked for Publica, the Lost Picture Show and Whitechapel Art Gallery. Patten is an anthropologist, videographer, researcher, filmmaker, musician and project manager. She has worked as a researcher and videographer at Ipsos Mori.

What work are you looking for?
We are interested in interventions and event-based installations that enable us to test our ideas.

What are your ambitions?
As an informal group,we are excited at the possibilities of what we can achieve together. Our goal is not so much to become known, but to gain knowledge and use it to make useful, playful and beautiful installations that contribute to communities.

How do you market yourself?
Marketing is essential to make our vision a reality. Our first installation, Contemplating Community, relies on public engagement and so marketing makes people aware what the installation is about and how to engage with it. Social media is excellent for making friends and marketing agents aware, but we have found that the press is the best way to make our message public.
