[Entries must be received by 1 September] Launched by A Better World by Design, this open competition has been launched to find student proposals for an ‘innovative’ future line of coastal defence.
Intended to find solutions to worldwide problems such as coastal erosion, loss of homes due to flooding and weather driven disasters, this competition looks for options that will preserve communities even if coastlines are lost; ranging from individual home design to sustaining infrastructure.
The winners will receive $1,000 to advance their proposal for future implementation in Matunuck Bay, Rhode Island in partnership with Save the Bay.
Submissions are to be made electronically and content must consist of up to five images outlining the solution; along with a presentation supporting the design and explaining research carried out.
Entries must be received by 1 September
The winner will be announced 2 October
