NORD’s Olympic Substation won the Non-Residential Building category at Wienerberger’s Brick Awards last week, with founder Alan Pert in Vienna to pick up the gong

Of the coal-black building with the ‘perfect brick facade’, Pert said: ‘The monolithic simplicity distinguishes itself from the spectacular form-play that characterise the sports facilities.’ We’re not sure when though. The Scot was the only winner not to actually make a speech on the night.
