McAslan’s ten point plan to solve the housing crisis


Stop forcing the private sector to deliver the public sector's responsibilities would be top of my list. Affordable housing requirements which developers are expected to subsidise have screwed supply since their introduction by Ken Livingstone and Nicky Gavron in the Noughties. And if you start regulating rents, the private rented sector will disappear. As it did before.
