RIBA co-founds global property ethics body

Hi George - cant quite let your letter to the AJ lie - some comments below ... Do you really believe that Israeli Architects are at the forefront of the oppression of Palestinian people. Are Hamas not at all under your scrutiny? The motion you called to council was implemented, 'calling' upon UIA to suspend israel. It was done, and now over. I dont need to reiterate the prejudice and one side nature of this motion, leaving many other countries free of sanction. How is your motion sanctioning RIBA members working in China, Russia, Cyprus or Northern Ireland going? As Peter Oborn's study to Council showed there are many ways in which architects can work positively to help people around the world. Nepal is very present in our minds. We should concentrate harder to use our collective expertise to help the suffering people today but to help rebuild their cities to be more resilient for the future. This exactly what the RIBA group is doing. We should wholeheartedly support it. Let us work together in a more positive, constructive way to improve the world in any small way we can. Kind Regards Daniel
