New practice Connolly Wellingham: ‘We are thinking about never doing a new-build project’

Committing to never doing a new build project presumably wouldn't stop them from knitting bits of sensitive new build (not pastiche 'cop-out') into existing urban fabric, as surely this is sometimes unavoidable / essential, and the resultant architecture can be really excellent (as well as being challenging to design). The AJ these days seems to illustrate a dismal amount of new out-of-context work (often in conservation areas) that should by rights see the perpetrators kicked out of the architectural profession.
