The property doesn't appear to 'respond to the local context' that much - except in height. At first sight the existing building looks like re-use of spare curtain walling from a 60s office block, but in terms of fenestration it's hard to see how the new proposal is 'driven by the immediate context' except for nearby shop fronts, which are at street level. The fenestration design would appear to be taking a lead from the need for a wide garage door to set the character of the rest of the elevation.
