Forget ‘beautiful buildings’ – the government should create a Housing Delivery Authority instead

Comment

Franz Kafka could 'make it up' - and could maybe have foreseen a situation where ongoing dogma-driven government demolition of local authority finances appears to be risking local democracy becoming virtually derelict in some parts of the country. A Housing Delivery Authority might find it increasingly hard to get much useful cooperation from hollowed out local government as austerity rolls on (for them at least), so maybe there'll be District Officers to run things, as in the Empire in colonial times - with a portrait of Roger Scruton hanging on the office wall.
