News analysis: Will modular housing reinvigorate the profession, or destroy it?

OSB: Also known as vertical mulch. That little problem pales in comparison with the use of CLT. The architectural whizz of the decade. The sheer idiocy of specifying the material reflects an almost total incomprehension of the realities attendant to timber construction. Can designers never learn?? Was the Dartington Primary School fiasco not lesson enough? Plumbing leaks, moisture differentials, sprinkler malfunctions, can all lead to catastrophic warping of the panels - they are after all, just monster pieces of plywood. That noted, I wonder who on earth was so unwise as to specify platform framing for the floors? Completely unfixable in the event of floor buckling. I do hope the housing trusts concerned will think again before committing to such a folly.
