Fire expert: Grenfell Tower tragedy 'entirely predictable'

Separate from the cladding-related issues, and referring to Chris Rogers' comments about the BBC, on Friday I heard two separate and very disquieting claims from local interviewees on Radio 4 - that the fire service couldn't use the dry riser, and that it had been difficult to isolate the gas supply to the building. Clearly, in the latter case, there's still the problem of a 'reservoir' of gas in the pipes even after the supply is cut off, but no doubt both claims will be thoroughly investigated - and the sooner the better.
