I feel like there is an element of post-rationalisation going on here. It was only a week ago official advice was to carry on as normal and wash ours hands and it was only two days ago we were told London is being affected more than the rest of the country. In one week they have gone from none to all 250 staff working from home? Seems fair to me.
Comment on: Why architects can’t work from home
Just completed my first day of working at home after very suddenly finding out I would need to self-isolate. Very easy remotely connecting to my PC and servers at work - couldn't have gone better and I would recommend to any practice considering it, particularly in the next few weeks. Working from home made no different to my normal work-day, other than I could put a laundry load on at lunch! Very proud of my employer for ensuring this process was in place and for making it so seamless.
As an architect, I do not want to profession associated with Murphy.
Nice one Tom!
If it always comes down to money, then the powers that be need the rules. 0% VAT on retrofit/refurb and 20% VAT on new build. That would certainly be a start...
