Architect sought for £1.4m Wrexham arts hub

Wrexham County Borough Council is on the lookout for an architect for a new £1.4 million arts and cultural industries hub

Planned to open in 2017, the new facility will feature a gallery, artists’ studios and learning centre.

The hub will be constructed inside the People’s Market building and its adjacent car park in the centre of the north of Wales town.

Ash Sakula has already completed a feasibility study, sketch design scheme (pictured) and outline business case for the project.

The appointed team will develop the scheme up to RIBA Stage 3 and prepare a planning application.

Tenders will be evaluated 70 per cent on quality and 30 per cent on cost.  The deadline for requests to participate 12noon on 3 July.
