Construction has begun on a new community pavilion in Brook Green, west London, by De Rosee Sa

The 41m² scheme, which was approved by the local authority last year, will provide a community centre and a kiosk on the parkland space near Hammersmith Road.

The stone-clad project is being funded by the Friends of Brook Green as part of the community group’s wider proposals for the ‘wonderful open space’ and will offer a ‘much-needed public facility and attractive community hub’ as well as new tennis courts and an upgraded playground.

Max de Rosee, director of de Rosee Sa, said: ‘We have been working with Friends of Brook Green since 2012 on proposals for a community pavilion. We are excited that works are starting on site as the process has been complex with so many stakeholders involved.

’We’ve chosen chain-link fence site hoardings so the community can witness the pavilion going up.’

The pavilion is set to open in September.
