Work begins on Glenn Howells’ £30m Eastside scheme

Work is set to start on this 21,405m² student flats scheme in Birmingham designed by Glenn Howells Architects

The canalside development will include accommodation for 659 students alongside shops and business enterprise units.

The £30.4 million project forms part of the redevelopment of Birmingham’s Eastside district which also includes Associated Architects’ Parkside Building and Patel Taylor’s Eastside City Park.

The area is also set to include a new conservatoire, currently being worked up by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.

The scheme is set to complete in August 2016.
