New York-based Tod Williams and Billie Tsien has completed a new lakeside ice rink
The new rink and recreational centre is located within 105,200m2 of restored parkland in New York’s Prospect Park.
Constructed of rough-hewn green granite, the LeFrak centre sits within the park like a stone retaining wall.
The L-shaped plan consists of two one-storey blocks connected by a bridge at roof level. These blocks frame a rink below a canopy. The underside of the canopy is midnight blue and carved with silver shapes which depict figure skating patterns.
