Why we gave the Woman Architect of the Year Award to Francine Houben

Doreen Lawrence, Martha Thorne and AJ editor Christine Murray on why the Women in Architecture jury awarded Francine Houben the 2014 Woman Architect of the Year Award

The Dutch architect picked up the prestigious award at a ceremony held at London’s Langham Hotel today (07.02.14).

Houben, who founded Mecanoo in 1984, was described by the judges as ‘confident but humble’.
