Video: 'The film is the story of a modernist'

  • Comment

In this video, filmed at last year’s Eileen Gray exhibition at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, film director Mary McGuckian talks to DoCoMoMo’s Shane O’Toole about the upcoming film

Describing the film, McGuckian said: ‘The story lies around how someone with such ingenuity, innovativeness, independence, and extraoridinary achievement remain unrecognised for so long.

‘The film is the emotional recognition of that, rather than the factual.’

The film, entitled, Price of Desire, spans 50 years of Gray’s life and is told through the eyes of Le Corbusier.

The Price of Desire, directed by Mary McGuckian, premieres at Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, Dublin, 19-29 March 2015
