Tour Carl Turner Architects’ 2013 Manser Medal-winning Slip House in Brixton with the architect

Made up of three boxes sitting on top of one another, the architect’s own home and office, occupies a former gap site in Brixton, South London.

The seven-year-long project, which saw off competition from Witherford Watson Mann’s Stirling Prize-winning Astley Castle and houses by Knox Bhavan, Birds Portchmouth Russum and ShedKM to win the 2013 Manser Medal, was described by the architect as a ‘long journey’.

The ground floor formed the architect’s office but is flexible enough that it can be transformed back into a home at evenings and weekends.

The video was shot by Stephenson/Bishop.
