Fascinating new drone video footage gives a rare aerial view of Gillespie Kidd & Coia’s ruined St Peter’s Seminary in Cardross, Scotland
The short film – published by Scottish Motorman on YouTube – was created using a remote controlled ‘quad-copter’ carrying a video camera.
The clip includes aerial perspectives and remarkable shots from inside the 1966 Brutalist seminary which was abandoned three decades ago leaving an iconic ruin.
Avanti with NORD Architecture and ERZ Landscape Architects was recently selected to deliver a £7.3 million overhaul of the Grade A-listed building.
The project for arts charity NVA will transform the structure into an international arts venue hosting events and exhibitions.
The proposals include a 600-seat performing arts venue and a heritage exhibition alongside indoor and outdoor teaching spaces.
Work to remove asbestos from the site started this week and the remote estate near Cardross is expected to open to the public in 2017.
