The remaining six plots in Urban Splash’s ‘Tutti Frutti’ terraced street development in Manchester’s New Islington area are up for sale.
Schemes from 26 architects and designers – one for each house in the street – were initially ‘financially approved’ for the development but six failed to submit models.
Now Urban Splash has written to the six firms and announced that the remaining plots will be ‘immediately released for sale… on a first-come-first-served basis’.
In the letter, Urban Splash wrote: ‘As you showed interest in the competition and your financial statement has been approved, we thought we would write and give you advance notice that the remaining plots are due to be released this Sunday (30 September).’
The scheme is based on Dutch landscape architect West 8’s canalside Borneo Sporenburg scheme in Amsterdam.
