Maccreanor Lavington and Stitch Studio has scooped planning for the third phase of the huge, 2,600-home regeneration of South Acton
The 240 home, new-build schemes on two sites in the south and south-west of the west London estate are the third in the eleven-phase, £600million regeneration plans.
HTA Architect’s first phase in the development completed back in October, and the 106-home second phase designed by Alison Brooks Architects is currently on site.
The wider masterplan is set to complete in 2026.

The first phase of the huge, 2,600-home regeneration of South Acton housing estate has completed – as new plans emerge for the later stages
The completion of 167 homes by HTA Architects coincides with the start of the 106-home second phase on site by Alison Brooks Architects and the submission of plans to Ealing Council for a further wave of 240 homes.
The plans, which include a café and a new public square, have been drawn up by Maccreanor Lavington and Stitch Studio – the emerging practice headed by ex-HTA talent Sally Lewis.

Backed by Acton Gardens, a joint venture partnership between Countryside Properties and L&Q, the wider masterplan is due to complete in 2026.

Alison Brooks and HTA win planning for huge South Acton redevelopment
HTA, Alison Brooks Architects and AECOM have won planning permission for the first phase of the £560 million scheme to regenerate Ealing’s largest housing estate, South Acton
Backed by Countryside Properties and L&Q, the initial tranche includes 167 homes of which 87 will be affordable. Start on site is planned for later this year (2011) with completion expected in 2013.
This initial planning permission, which was granted by London Borough of Ealing, also features an energy centre incorporating combined heat and power (CHP) as well as photovoltaic renewable facilities.
A second application for 130 new homes is due to be submitted in the coming months.
Towards the end of the year an outline planning application will be submitted to cover the rest of the 16ha estate’s regeneration - a total of around 2,600 homes.
Richard Cherry, deputy chairman of Countryside Properties, said: ‘Since our selection as development partners at the beginning of the year we have worked hard with all the stakeholders to bring the first phase plans together. It is great to see them being approved so that we can get underway on site this year.
‘We recognise that this is an outstanding opportunity to address the physical, social and economic regeneration of not just the estate itself, but also the wider South Acton area.’
