Theis and Khan has won the job to redesign the west wing of the exclusive Hurlingham Club in south west London

The practice saw off a shortlist which included Rare Architecture, Walters and Cohen, BPR Architects and David Morley – which completed the revamp of the club’s Lido back in 2012.

The practice will revamp the sports clubs Grade II-listed west wing redeveloping its restaurant and fitness areas.

The Hurlingham Club was founded as a private members club in 1869 providing sporting and social facilities. The main building dates back to 1769 with later early 20th century additions designed by Edwin Lutyens and an east wing by Squire and Partners.

A planning application is expected to be made later this year.
