TateHindle has won planning consent from Barnet Council for a 355-home scheme in Mill Hill, north London
The project at Millbrook Park for Barratt London is the ninth phase of a 15-phase development to create 2,240 homes on the site of a former army barracks.
The scheme, opposite Mill Hill East Underground station, will deliver 345 apartments in buildings of up to six storeys and 10 townhouses arranged around a mews court.
The site will also provide 400m² of commercial and retail accommodation on the ground floor of an apartment building fronting a new civic space.
The masterplan also includes a new primary school, underground central-heating plant and a police station. Work is scheduled to start on site this summer.
TateHindle design director Mike Jamieson said the scheme embraced its hillside setting, adding: ‘Homes are organised to capture views and frame a variety of garden courts while establishing a distinctive new gateway to the overall development.’
TateHindle previously worked on the first phase at Millbrook Park - The Mount - for Countryside Annington. The scheme created 133 new homes, including three and four-bedroom homes and four-storey apartment buildings.
