Stitch wins planning for latest phase of South Acton housing

  • Comment

Stitch has won planning for 246 new homes as part of the South Acton estate regeneration project

The homes are the seventh phase of the huge 2,600 home development, which also includes schemes by HTA Design, Alison Brooks Architects, and Maccreanor Lavington.

The 246 mixed-tenure new homes will be focused around Avenue Road Park - one of the key ‘gardens’ in the Acton Gardens masterplan and is the first phase of the northern area of the estate.

The scheme pays tributes to the buildings which are being demolished on the estate and, according to the practice, is based around the themes of ‘grid’ and ‘patchwork’.

The plans will create a new frontage to Avenue Road and the park, while the sculpted façade will create a gateway to Church Road with a signature building in white brick on the corner.
