Stirling revisited: Buckley Gray Yeoman eyes No1 Poultry revamp

Buckley Gray Yeoman has been asked to look at a proposed revamp of  the iconic No 1 Poultry in the City of London, by James Stirling and Michael Wilford & Partners

The practice is working with burgeoning boutique investment firm Perella Weinberg Partners on early plans to overhaul the office floors within the 1997 landmark.

Leases on the office space are due to expire next year.

Future proposals could include re-working the concourse.

Clad in pink and yellow limestone, the post-modern landmark was built by developer Peter Palumbo and completed five years after architect Stirling’s death (1992).

  • How about asking Michael Wilford to do the revamp? He designed it! Why is it so uncommon for the original architects to be involved in subsequent updates? That should be the first port of call!
