Newcastle-based Ryder Architecture has added South African practice Ruben Reddy Architects to its growing international network

Ruben Reddy joins businesses from Hungary, Spain, Australia, Canada and Hong Kong in the Ryder Alliance.

The alliance uses a common data environment and digital design tools to collaborate across borders and create opportunities for its members.

Ruben Reddy works across a number of sectors from its studios in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The practice played a role in Russia’s successful bid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Other projects include an upgrade to the existing visitors centre, along with a new exhibition space, at Lamberts Bay, a fishing village and tourist attraction in South Africa.

Ryder architectural director Jonathan Seebacher said: ‘Ruben Reddy Architects brings a wealth of sports and healthcare expertise and has already provided support to Ryder’s team in Vancouver to secure the £88 million Memorial Gym masterplan for the University of British Columbia.’

Ruben Reddy director Gonzalo Prieto added: ‘We are delighted to join the Ryder Alliance and are looking forward to sharing expertise with our new partners and contributing to extend the footprint around the globe.’

The alliance was established by Ryder Architecture and Australian practice i2C in 2014, and now includes BIM Academy, Studio IN-Ex, Ravetllat Arquitectura, Ward Robinson and Ruben Reddy.
