Slessor and Peyton-Jones named on Queen's honours list

The Architectural Review’s (AR) former editor Catherine Slessor and the Serpentine’s Julia Peyton-Jones have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours

Slessor, who was technical editor at the Architects’ Journal (1987-1992) before joining the AR, has received an MBE for services to architectural journalism. 

She was honoured alongside Serpentine Galleries director Julia Peyton-Jones, who is set to step down from as head of the arts organisation after 26 years in the role. Peyton-Jones was made a Dame for services to the arts.

Others who picked up OBEs included Hannah Corbett and Sara Everett who were both responsible for commissioning BDP and Wolfgang Buttress’ British pavilion at the Milan Expo.  

Neil Thomas, founder of engineering firm Atelier One and architect Christopher Day also received MBEs.
