Sheppard Robson wins planning for former Yorkshire Post site

  • Comment

AJ100 big hitter Sheppard Robson has won planning for the redevelopment of the former Brutalist Yorkshire Post HQ in Leeds

The mixed-use scheme, for YP Real Estates, includes 50,000m² of offices, 200 homes, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities on the brownfield site.

The waterside project, which was described by Leeds City Council’s chief planning officer as ‘a gateway for the city centre’, will incorporate new public realm and open space.

John Madin’s Yorkshire Post building was demolished last year following the newspaper’s relocation, opening up the site for redevelopment for the first time in more than 40 years.
