'Send us bad buildings,' is the call from CABE

  • Comment
CABE is compiling a list of the country's worst buildings and wants architects to tell them about the nastiest and most depressing eyesores in the UK.

The move coincides with the launch of the commission's new campaign The Cost of Bad Design, which highlights what happens 'when buildings go wrong'.

An accompanying publication will also be launched, featuring essays from experts about how buildings fail and their impact on their surroundings.

'Everyone can think of a building they hate or a place that really depresses them,' said a CABE spokesman. '[And] we want to know about your least favourite buildings, streets or spaces.'

The commission is asking for a photograph of the most miserable examples of the built environment and a short description of why 'they don't work' to be sent to

baddesign@cabe.org.uk

A selection of the worst carbuncles will be shown on CABE's website and at the official roll-out of the campaign on Monday 19 June, which will be held in the commission's offices.
