Patrik Schumacher, alongside the three other executors of the late Zaha Hadid’s will, has been appointed as a director of Zaha Hadid Holdings
The principal of Zaha Hadid Architects was appointed last month as director of Hadid’s main business Zaha Hadid Holdings, which includes Zaha Hadid Architects, according to documents filed on Companies House.
Hadid’s niece, architect Rana Hadid, and two close friends, artist Brian Clarke and property developer Peter Palumbo were also appointed as directors.
All four of the newly appointed directors were named as executors of Hadid’s will, in which she left a £70 million fortune, as the AJ revealed in January.
The previous directors of Zaha Hadid Holdings were Hadid until her death and Nigel Calvert, a partner at London law firm Calvert Solicitors, whose tenure ended last month.
Zaha Hadid Holdings’ latest company accounts for the year to 30 April 2016 – a month after practice founder Zaha Hadid died – show its income had fallen from £49.6 million to £46.6 million, with workload in Asia sinking from £16.8 million to £11.7 million and turnover in the Middle East down from £20.2 million to £16.8 million.
