Satellite bags planning for River Cottage expansion

  • Comment

[FIRST LOOK + PLANS + PROJECT DATA] Satellite Architects has won planning permission for this 197m² accommodation block at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage in Devon

The project creates 11-room new overnight rooms for visitors, students and apprentices visiting the base of the popular television series.

Satellite previously completed a cookery school for the site near Axminster.  The outfit was asked to complete additional range of new buildings including the accommodation block following a serious fire in 2012.

The new building – split into two blocks – features a covered veranda on its farmyard elevation. The first floor rooms include tall windows and timber screen shutters to provide privacy and shade from the afternoon sun.

Tender documents are currently being produced and the project is expected to start on site this summer.
