Sasanbell becomes Corstorphine + Wright Scotland

AJ100 firm Corstorphine + Wright is looking to grow further in Scotland after merging with Glasgow-based Sasanbell

The Warwick-headquartered practice took on Sasanbell’s St Vincent St office along with its five-strong team – which it will look to boost in the coming months.

Sasanbell, launched in 2010 by former Keppie directors Babak Sasan and Charles Bell, has been rebranded as Corstorphine + Wright Scotland.

Babak Sasan – who co-founded the firm and becomes director of Corstorphine + Wright Scotland – said: ’We will work from the same Glasgow office as before but we are in a position to recruit.

‘We have five members of staff at the moment and are in the process of interviewing. We could accommodate 15 people in our current premises – that would be the ultimate for us.’

He added that existing members of Corstorphine + Wright staff would be free to apply to move to Glasgow, and that projects could be passed between the group’s nine bases throughout the UK and Ireland.

Jeff Downes, director at Corstorphine + Wright, said: ’We’ve been really ambitious about our growth strategy, opening a number of new offices in recent years. We’re really excited to be partnering with Sasanbell to open our first office in Scotland, in a city renowned for its architectural heritage.

’Our similar values, goals and even clients will ensure that this venture is a success. We are looking forward to long and sustained growth in Glasgow, drawing on the combined resources across Corstorphine + Wright’s national network of offices.’

Corstorphine + Wright, which employs about 100 people, is working on a number of projects in Glasgow including a student accommodation development for Student Castle.

Sasan said the deal originated from networking at the MIPIM property fair in Cannes.
