Russ + Henshaw reveals Clerkenwell Design Week pavilion

Russ + Henshaw has revealed its designs for a pavilion for architecture charity Article 25 at Clerkenwell Design Week

The installation entitled Agora on the Green will sit on Clerkenwell Green in central London for the duration of the three-day-long festival and has been inspired by the space’s history of hosting public assemblies and rallies.

The design drawn up by the emerging design collaborative features a ‘continuous folded surface which twists and lifts to form gateways, arches, a large public dining room’.

As part of the installation Article 25 will invite the public to interact with the structure by adding coloured stickers to the patterned timber structure.

Robin Cross, managing director of Article 25, said: ‘Agora on the Green is a representation of how innovative design can reinvigorate public spaces and bring communities closer together, mirroring the ethos that underpins our works.’

The pavilion is being built in collaboration with Scandinavian Business Seating’s brand RBM.

Last year Russ + Henshaw designed the Tile Mile for Clerkenwell Design Week 2014.
