Rolfe Judd unveils Docklands tower scheme

  • Comment

Architect Rolfe Judd has lodged plans for a split-height residential tower development on the Isle of Dogs in east London.

Its proposals for 54 Marsh Wall involve 240 apartments split between interlinked towers of 29 and 39 storeys.

The site is a stone’s throw from a proposed 60-storey Fred Pilbrow & Partners-designed development that is currently the subject of pre-application discussions with Tower Hamlets Council and the Greater London Authority

Rolfe Judd said the design concept for its scheme, drawn up for developer Daejan, was ‘an evolved twin tower approach, formed out of a singular building mass’.

According to the practice, the towers are joined at the base and in central sections to provide active uses to the base and support to the residential floors above.

The taller tower has a brown-bronze finish and is topped with vertical fins with chrome yellow cladding. The other has a lighter, champagne, tone and burgundy fins.

A consultation on the plans runs until 7 October.
