Rogers protests his channel 4 innocence

  • Comment

Last week Richard Rogers gave a talk exclusively for Channel 4’s staff about his life and loves.

The architect, who was in conversation with Channel 4 news presenter Cathy Newman, talked about the greenbelt, housebuilders, planning and the Pompidou.

But it turned out the TV channel’s staff were more interested in an urban myth concerning their headquarters building, which Rogers completed in 1994.

Employee Adam Gee tweeted: ‘Cathy Newman just solved the great C4 urban myth of the phallic entrance to our HQ – Richard Rogers didn’t do it on purpose’.
