The competition to create a private members' drinking hole at the institute's headquarters in Portland Place was won by Azman Architects back in March (AJ 17.3.05).
Thanks to the new show, there is now a chance to see the other shortlisted entries. The three losing schemes were designed by acq, Blauel Architects and Universal Design Studio.
More than 50 expressions of interests were received for the competition, which was sponsored by SOMFY Dynamic Facade Solutions.
The scheme, which will be housed in the space currently taken by the bookshop in the main entrance foyer, has already been dubbed the Ribar.
Due to be officially unveiled at the end of August, the café will open to the public during the day and will be used to promote architecture to all RIBA visitors.
The exhibition is on display in The Florence Hall, 66 Portland Place, and will run from Thursday 5 May until Saturday 4 June. Admission is free.
