RIBA South East Awards shortlist revealed

  • Comment

Fourteen buildings have been shortlisted for the RIBA South East Awards, including the British Airways i360 by Marks Barfield Architects and a library refurbishment in Tonbridge by BDP

Also on the list are two more seaside schemes – Hastings Pier by dRMM and a private house in Kent by Tonkin Liu – and Brighton College’s music school by Eric Parry.

The shortlist is completed with projects by Baynes and Mitchell Architects; Richard Griffiths Architects; Featherstone Young; Walters and Cohen Architects; Abir Architects; James Gorst Architects; Rural Office for Architecture and Niall Maxwell; Sandy Rendel Architects; and John Pardey Architects.

The shortlisted buildings, chosen from 45 buildings entered in the region, which covers Kent, Surrey and Sussex, will be assessed by a regional jury with the winners announced at the RIBA South East Awards on 25 May at Ascot racecourse.

Regional winners will be put forward for the RIBA National Awards, with the successful recipients announced in July. Those collecting national awards will then be considered for the RIBA Stirling Prize.
