Revealed: images of Foster’s Apple visitor centre

Images have emerged of Foster + Partners’ proposed visitor centre at Apple’s Cupertino HQ in California

The glazed building will provide views of the Foster-designed doughnut-shaped headquarters building from a rooftop observation deck.

Alongside the rooftop viewing platform the two-storey centre will also include a 720m2 café and 3,000m2 Apple store.

According to planning documents the design aims to ‘provide an environment reflecting Apple’s brand values of innovation, ease of use, and beauty’.

Plans for the visitor centre were included in the original proposals for the 1 million m2 Apple facilities on the 17 acres site but until a recent updated planning application was filed little was known about its design.
