The first image of Neon’s competition-winning scheme for the RIBA lounge at MIPIM UK in London has been revealed
The emerging practice’s designs for RIBA’s space at the property fair acts as an ‘exaggerated architectural pin-up board’.
The interior of the space is formed from hundreds of black and white images both taken from the RIBA archive and submitted by architects.
Interspersed between the black and white images are colour prints of this year’s RIBA Stirling Prize shortlist.
Neon said: ‘[The space] tells a fascinating story of the best of British architecture and the work of RIBA members.’
The practice saw off competition from 27 other entries to win the job to design the space, which will occupy a 200m² area in the exhibition hall providing a space for RIBA members to meet clients.
MIPIM UK takes place at London’s Olympia next week (15 – 17 October).
The event in west London will host the inaugural Architecture Tomorrow exhibition – a curated show of nearly 200 forthcoming projects designed by UK architects.
