Revealed: 2016 RIBA North East Awards shortlist

  • Comment

Local practices dominate the RIBA North East regional awards shortlist

The only practice to be shortlisted from outside the region is Edinburgh-based Sutherland Hussey Harris. Its family home on the edge of the Darras Hall estate in Ponteland is up against another 11 schemes by local practices.

Chosen from 23 entries, the shortlisted practices also include Ryder Architecture, Napper Architects, Spence and Dower and FaulknerBrowns.

The RIBA North East award winners will be announced at an evening event at As You Like It in Newcastle upon Tyne on Friday 22 April 2016.

Regional winners will be put forward for the RIBA National Awards, with the lucky recipients announced in June. Those collecting national awards will then be considered for the 2016 RIBA Stirling Prize.
