AJ100 practice Purcell has announced it is to merge with Norwich-based Reynolds Jury Architecture
The move marks a return to Purcell for Reynolds Jury Architecture co-founder Janet Jury, who spent 12 years at the conservation and heritage specialist before her departure in 2002.
Jury has been appointed as a partner at Purcell’s Norwich studio, taking four staff with her to the AJ100 big-hitter. Reynolds Jury Architecture co-founder Michael Reynolds will not be joining Purcell but will continue as a consultant.
Although Purcell will retain Reynolds Jury Architecture’s existing client base, it is understood the firm’s name will now disappear.
Jury said: ‘I expect the team will grow in confidence with me as we enjoy the best of what the two practices previously offered as separate firms.
‘The design-led ethos of Reynolds Jury Architecture complements Purcell’s stronger, though not exclusive, focus on conservation.’
Founded in 2004, Reynolds Jury Architecture’s mst significant projects include the refurbishment of the Grade II*-listed Britons Arms Coffee House and ongoing phases of the Edward Street residential development in Norwich.
Purcell recently completed an £8 million extension to Blackburn cathedral.
