PBP+W wins planning for £20m city scheme

  • Comment

A Pringle Brandon Perkins + Will-designed redevelopment of a 1950s office block in the City of London has been granted planning permission.

The 7,711m2 scheme, valued at £20million, will front New Bridge Street, between Blackfriars and Ludgate Circus, and replace the current Fleet House building as well as the St Brides Tavern behind.

Pringle Brandon Perkins + Will (PBP+W) won the job in a competition hosted by the Corporation of London.

The site is close to the Fleet Street Conservation Area, with sensitive views of the spire of Christopher Wren’s St Bride’s Church.

PBP+W principal John Drew said the new Fleet House would be an ‘exciting’ prospect for the city.
