Paul Davis + Partners have won permission for a 25,000m² office-to-residential conversion of a Grade ll-listed block at Buckingham Gate, west London
The 78-flat scheme will overhaul five ‘linked but distinctive buildings’ in the Birdcage Walk Conversation area next to Buckingham Palace.
The project is managed by Delek Global Real Estate and will preserve a Grade ll-listed building and façades on other ‘buildings of merit’ on the site.
A number of ‘contemporary’ apartments will be built in a new residential building on Palace Street, providing a double-height entrance hall for the whole development.
There will also be a gym/spa and underground car parking for residents.
Work is expected to start in 2014.
