Emerging practice OS31 has revealed plans for a £15,000 pop-up market hall in Sheffield
The Sheffield-based firm has teamed up with a local market to create a 400m² space for independent traders on a redundant site next to the city’s train station.
The pop-up Peddler Market site will feature a 20m x 20m canopy made from scaffoldin,g creating a space for eating and shopping.
Tony Broomhead, founder of OS31, said: ‘The site has been disused for almost seven years and is a missed opportunity to create a space that contributes to the city.
‘Our aim is not only to deliver a fantastic Christmas experience, working with the creative team from Peddler, but also question how the city is using the space and maybe influence future developments.’
The market will open on 3 December and will be in place until Christmas Eve.
