SOM’s new World Trade Center on the Ground Zero site in New York has opened
Employees at publisher Conde Nast moved into the building this morning (4 November).
The publishing giant has moved into offices on floors 20 – 44 of the 104-storey tower from a Fox & Fowle designed skyscraper on Times Square.
The £2.4billion skyscraper was designed by SOM and contains offices, an observation deck, parking, and broadcasting facilities.
The 541m-tall tower is the centre piece to the world trade centre site, where the twin towers once stood.
The site, which has been masterplanned by Daniel Libeskind, also includes a pavilion and memorial museum by Snohetta.
